Water pollution: Secondary Research

WEEK 2:

27-5th March

Water pollution occurs when toxic substances enter water bodies such as lakes, rivers, oceans and so on. The substances get dissolved or lie suspended in the water or lying on the bed. This degrades the quality of the water. Litter and toxic waste and sewage can drastically effect the eco systems and different animals that live in or visit the waters. Penguins get tangled up in litter, turtles eat it, seagulls get trapped in oil in the sea and so on and due to rising populations, developing countries and laziness of human’s water pollution is becoming more and more of a problem. It has also been said that pollutants seep through to ground waters that could end up in our households and drinking water.
